I personally love the Redtops. I'm not saying they're perfect, but I can say this. So far I've purchased 4 Optima redtops. One 75/25 universal and three group 35's. The only one I ever had a problem with was the one made in America. The three 35's I bought were made in Mexico are still going strong. 2 are about 3 years old and the other is probably double that.

Duralast works great for me, I think Optima Red Tops are overrated in this day and age
If you just need a battery then yes. Otherwise I don't agree. I went to a redtop in my car because I had just installed a brand new Deka that was supposedly sealed, but in reality was not. It spilled acid everywhere during an autocross on a particularly long and fast slalom. Since the redtop is a full size battery I get flack for not using a small lightweight "racing" battery. Thing is I don't like them because they are too much trouble. They don't last as long and discharge quickly. They also have little or no reserve. Lithium batteries are nice and light, but are unproven especially in cold weather. Therefore an Optima is the only option that works for me, and I'm glad they are still making them.

I also replaced my truck's battery at the two year mark when it started to grow flowers (sulphur) on the positive terminal. Apparently they just do that. I could've got another crap battery under warranty, but decided it was a good time for an upgrade to a redtop. It has worked flawlessly for the last three years and the added impact resistance is nice since I go off-roading with my truck.
