My 2014 STi battery seemed to have a little too much trouble in CT's cold temperatures this year; below 10 degrees it definitely took more cranks than I would expect it to. As such, I would like to get a better quality battery with a better CCA rating.
I've tried seeing what people most often recommend for new battery replacements and it seems the Optima RedTop 8020-164 35 is quite often mentioned. I was about to pull the trigger on Amazon for a new one, when I read some of the reviews. I guess as of recent the quality of the Optima's has declined since they started manufacturing in Mexico?
Would it still be worth my $160 to get one of these or are there better options?
