So I met this douchbag today that says he knows someone who is on the inside or something at Subaru... of course, don't we all? Anyway he says only certain Subaru dealers will be authorized to sell STi's. I guess this is like only certain Ford dealers are SVT dealers. I told him I frequent a few STi and Subaru forums on the internet and have not heard anything about this before. Anyone else heard this?

nope, and i hope it isn't true, most dealerships seem to be taking deposits for an sti so this is prolly a bunch of bull.

That is what I told him. He only mentioned one here in the Chicago area and I was like, well I already technically ordered one from another dealership. I could see some Subaru dealerships not getting an STi but I don't think there will only be certain STi dealerships.

I think what he was trying to say was that there would be only a few dealers that were certified to SERVICE the STi. I remember reading something on the old i-club that not every dealer will be able to service them since they were "special". Kinda like down under where they have Subaru Super dealers who specialize in STi service. But then again, what do I know.

I would not be surprised if they only let certain dealers service them, ones with Senior Master Techs, but I think all of them are technically allowed to sell them.

Of course, there are some dealers who won't get any because there is no way that they could sell even one.
