On the phone, black STi spotted by a friend

He didn't have a camera, and I know I know, no pics no proof but I trust him.

Anyway, he was up in N. Calif somewhere and had stopped to get gas when a black STi with gold rims pulls up. After talking to the guy, he gave me a call to relay the story, and one of the things he mentioned that he noticed was that there are "gold flakes" in the black paint, from the factory...sorta like the old Civics had...anyone familiar with that? I guess that's the metallic nature of the paint.

It's a gorgeous color, but I wouldn't want to own a black car.

I saw the paint job myself first hand when I went to the Sierra Subaru meet, it's really quite prominent and goes well with the gold rims. There also was a silver STi with gunmetal/anthracite rims and it looked really sharp! I was thinking they'd look great on a blue car

Hmm what do you guys think of this on a blue STi...summer: gold rims with the stock slicks, winter: anthracite rims with snow tires
