Well I've searched and searched I think I'm more confused than when I started:) I know everybody hates the same questions over and over but if someone could finally clear it up for me that would be awesome

About a week ago I put my new Defi BF gauges in (Imperial boost and oil pressure) and everything is hooked up except the oil pressure sensor. Tomorrow I plan on pulling off the intercooler to get to the galley plug on the back of the motor. I'm just not 100% sure exactly about the different threading.

Here's the information I'm working off of from a couple of threads:

The oil galley plug itself is an M18x1.5 thread like an O2 sensor, the thread in the oil pressure sender part is 1/8-28 bspt thread.

and

Just to aleviate confusion:

The Subaru plug is BSPT (otherwise known as PT)
The DEFI Oil Pressure sensor is BSPT (PT)
The METRIC (celcius) DEFI Oil Temperature sensor is BSPT (PT)
The IMPERIAL (farhenhiet) DEFI Oil Temperature sensor is NPT

The Oil pressure sensor comes with BSPT to NPT adaptor, so that you can install your pressure sensor into an NPT hole, commonly found on oil filter sandwich adapters.

DEFI recommends in the instructions that you use teflon tape, regardless of whether your inter-mixing PT and NPT threads.

 Still confused. So obviously I have everything that came in the Defi box and as well I ordered this from jscspeed

Subaru Oil Galley Plug w/ 1/8PT Threads
NOTE: This will fit most JDM 1/8PT gauge senders (i.e. Defi, Blitz, Apexi, and Greddy).
Description: Part #:

Oil Galley Plug w/ 1/8PT Fitting
and Gasket 11024AA210 & 037018200

So do I have exactly what I need? Thanks so much guys

I came across this thread.

From what I found that there are 2 different standards for threads. One is the british and the other national. The difference between the 2 is about 1 thread/inch. NPT being 27 while BSPT is 28.

In the OP, It states that BSPT is the same as just PT. Just like the OP I am asking the same question.

My sender/sensor for my oil pressure is 1/8PT does that mean I can just twist on and tighten down? Or would I need an adapter. This is for the front gallery plug.

What about the rear gallery plug is it the same size. I keep hearing 2 different ones. NPT and PT. So which one is it?

After 3 pages of search results. This comes up, Of course after I posted in here..

http://www.iwsti.com/forums/2-5-liter-litre-factory-motor/250942-oil-galley-plug-defi-oil-temp-sender-problem.html

Both plugs are 1/8PT so they should just go on without any problems.
