Hey guys, I was thinking about MRT's HUGE front mount for my wagon. Doing so, would obviously negate the need for the hood scoop, but it seems to me that it would be perfect to place a stock intercooler sized oil cooler there! I am not even sure if we get an oil cooler from the factory, but a bigger one would always help with mods.... Has anyone heard of any such oil cooler conversion? Or twin coolers! Half the scoop for oil, half for transmission cooler.

Does anyone else think this would be absolutely great? maybe someone will see this post and produce such a kit for us!!!!!

you know, I like that idea. Its a nice idea and I was always wondering about a tranny/oil cooler. Might have to make some custom mounting brackets but after that its just a matter of hooking everything up.

I think it's a great idea for us guys in the sun. People in the great frozen north who opted for the optional factory engine block warmer might not see the need! :lol:

Really though, how hard could it be? Oil coolers tee off the filter, usually have a filter relocation kit too. I imagine it would be fairly similar to do the same for the tranny. The temp drop might help get rid of some of our 5spd gremlins in the WRX, and make the STi 6spd truly bulletproof.

Hell, with steel braided lines, you could probably mount it to the hood!
