5,400 kilometers and counting....

from some of the replies i read on wrc.com's forum, some are saying that there is to be a new subaru in 2004...

some replies:

Isn't Subaru going to have a "new" car for next year. I thought Lapworth spoke about that?

I read/heard also that 2004 Impreza is going to be completly new car.

The new car is comming in Mexico next year. I it spose to be a 'Ford' job with a complete re-design but I think I will still look the same, which is good cos it looks amazing

anyone hear/read anything bout this and can confirm with solid facts?

As with I think every year, there will be a new car, but not a complete one. Maybe slight alterations to the look of it, and slight improvements to the engine/suspension etc.

I think 2005 was the year for the completely new car?

Subaru has mirrored the attitude of its new world champion Petter Solberg by refusing to wrest on its laurels - and has already begun testing the new car which will carry the Norwegian's hopes of claiming back-to-back WRC titles.

Car builder Prodrive started shakedown work in the UK after last weekend's Rally Great Britain and will shortly be moving on to test in Spain. The team will concentrate on two main areas of development: the engine and aerodynamics.

"This is the middle part of our development of this Impreza," said team principal David Lapworth.

"The new car does look quite different compared with this year's version, thanks to the aero changes. As for the engine, in some places we have been quite adventurous and made some big alterations. This is and evolution rather than a revolution. It's not as big a change as we've made in the past. It's not like when we brought out the 2000 Impreza - that was a new car."

The Impreza WRC2004 is due to be seen in competition in April.

The only thing that looks different is the front bumper and it is not that significant.

Woa mate... this is the only Subaru forum I read/post on!

And this article is an official press release from Subaru - look almost anywhere on the net and it'll have exactly the same words
