Need help with turbo whine boost loss

So at the track last night the first run I was making 23 psi. Second run dropped to 16psi and when in boost was making a whine. The whine gets louder the more boost I make. Kinda sounds like alternator that comes through speakers but is coming from the engine. I pulled the intercooler and checked all the fittings they look good found a vacuum line that wasn't connected and fixed it made a gasket for the bov out of gasket material since the old one was a little rough.

That's a classic turbo failure noise. Sounds like you need to pull the intake or exhaust off and check for oil / shaft play.
Ill do that tomorrow but I don't have any smoke.
Well I screwed up and the gasket I made was catching on the bov. That's what was causing the whine but still not making more than 17psi. Ran a log tonight and wastegate duty cycle is at 55%?
check your connection between Turbo and down pipe.. there may has leaked..
Would a leak between the turbo and sow pipe cause any boost loss? I can see the up pipe but not the down pipe causing it.

Eh, removing the downpipe might, but a leak, no.

55% is high, I only see about 45 - 48% and get 18.3 PSI in 100+ degree weather.
I replaced all the vacuum lines and ebcs lines that didn't help at all. Gonna adjust my wastegate arm next maybe I tweaked it launching.
Well tightened the wastegate actuator and I'm at 19psi. Gonna tighten some more tomorrow.
Sounds like what happened when my other 2 turbos started to fail. Check for shaft play, if you catch it early you may be able to get it rebuilt as opposed to buying a whole new turbo.
The turbo isn't whining anymore.
