Hey so I recently picked up an invidia n1 for my sti and pulled this off, it has no name but I want to say I saw Cobb on it somewhere but now I can’t seem to recall, if anything it resembles a tomei or atleast a knock off because the only tomeis I see are the xpremes with no mid pipe muffler and blue burn marks and obviously tomei on the side. I want to see this seems to be an older tomei because it has the adjustable hangers up front and slide in mid pipe. If someone can confirm this please help me!

I mean, is the whole assembly hella light? cuz what appears to be slipfit, and then the pressure clamp bands, with the spring retainers all look exactly like my Tomei Expreme exhaust. either a knock off, or legit, i can't really tell you thru these pics tho.
It’s hefty just cause the other muffler, but that’s what I’m thinking possibly an older tomei?

Yup I think thats the JIC Magic Spartan. I think the Spartan was offered in SS and full TI. That one there looks to be the full TI version so it may be either 60 or 80mm piping. Notice how it steps down at the neck by the flange. Back then, there were also so many more full titanium options compared to today. Fujitsubo, HKS, JIC Magic, Greddy/Trust, and Tomei all offered full titanium exhaust from what I remember. Its not fair, the GD chassis had all the cool exhaust systems!

If i were the OP, id clean that bad boy up and let it shine like no other. Id let the car relive the glory days of the past with that JIC Magic.
Wow! Yea because the tomei the rear hanger has a support as the jic doesn’t seem to? That’s really cool to know! Definitely going to give you a good wash and throw some more pictures up! I knew you guys would pull through!!

Unfortunately there’s nothing to identify the exhaust, I’ve taken it apart and cleaned it the best I could for now and nothing?

Hmm yeah I dont remember where they would put their label but if I had to guess, Id say it would be on the tip somewhere. You may want to focus on that area. Also not exactly sure what to use to clean titanium.
I don’t believe it’s on the tip, from the few pictures I could find they were on the clamps but I can’t seem to find any? Possibly a knock off?

Its hard to tell. This was around 15 years ago. Ive seen some pictures, some with and without "JIC MAGIC" on the tip. Some have the badge welded on to muffler. Some have absolutley nothing at all. I guess it depends on what version the exhaust is and when it was made. Also JDM or US spec, and if it was produced in Japan as a US spec or JDM spec. Again, LOTS of variables for JIC Magic.

You may have to comb NASIOC for more info on this. Im sure they have pictures of it in their archives but you'll have to dig deep. It would be great if we could hear from an actual owner of one of these but that would suggest someone who's been in the subie game for 15+ years.
oh definitely, but wouldn’t be surprised if someone with a jic exhaust can confirm for us, I’ll definitely dig into NASIOC for help but I really do appreciate this because now we know it’s a jic magic exhaust or atleast a knock off, I would have just thought it was a $70 eBay exhaust 😅 but thanks again!!

Funny story, many years ago I was just a young kid getting started into cars. There was a coworker at the time who had an 06 sti with HKS Carbon Ti exhaust. He later traded and swapped it for the JIC Magic. I thought it looked so cool and it was alot louder than his previous set up. I remember his had that very distinctive blue edge on the tip of the exhaust. Not sure if he had the full titanium version or the stainless. This was probably back in like 2010.

Nostalgic how we're talking about this same exhaust today many years later. Funny how life if full circle :)
Oh yea definitely crazy how things come back around! Even after many years. But he wouldn’t have happened to have traded on a forum as well? I was looking at a jic for trade and somebody offered a ti hks exhaust for it, would be one heck of a circle for that one!

Oh what! Now that’s cool! But he doesn’t happen to be REXMUSL would he? Looks like he offered his hks carbon ti in 08 for a blue tipped jic exhaust? If so that would be wild!
Not sure if that trade ever ended up going through
