Anyone hear of a broken tranny yet?

I'm heading to Tampa (MAstro Subaru) tomorrow to pick up mynew STI and was wondering if there is anything I should know about breaking a new motor in. The last time I bought a new car was in Germany and I bought my Alfa GTV-6 at the factory and the factory rep told me the best way to break in an Alfa was to keep it at the disgnated break-in RPM for as long as possible when driving, ie, keep it in 5th gear on backroads to keep the engine speed close to the 2500, 3000, aqnd then 4500 limits (if my memory serves). Does this apply to Subioes as well?

How much did you get it for, MSRP? Also did they let you test drive one first? I am in St. Pete. Thanks!

I got it for MSRP 30K at Mastro - no dealing allowed :>( No I didn't test the one I bought (it just came in Monday with 8 miles on the odometer). I drove one froma guy I work with. I already knew I wanted this car but the drive sealed the deal. I don't know if they would let you test it unless you showed you were serious about buying it.
