I just came back from Australia where we spent our honeymoon. I am not writing this to inform you about my honeymoon trip or tell you how great of a time we had. I am going to focus more on the car stuff.
First of all, I was drooling over some of the cars there. The 3 most popular ones among the sport car enthusiasts are: Imprezas (tons of different versions), Skylines (I think I saw like 30-40 of them) and Supras.
One day we were taking a tour bus through the city and I noticed a Subaru dealership through the window. I immediately notice a bunch of new '04 WRXs on the lot. I continue to scan the area, hoping for a red traffic light so that I gain more time. Then I see it. Second floor, large sign "Subaru Technica International". I look deeper. My heart starts to race. There are 2 of them, blue and silver STi. I immediately begin a campaign to convince my wife that we HAVE TO come to this dealer at some point.
So a few days later I was on the train going to check out our car (albeit a Aussie version). This thing is awesome. Pretty much everything about it screams performance. I especially liked the much improved interior as I was never a fan of the quality/appearance of the previous Imprezas. They sell the car for AU$60K, which equates US$35-37K (the dealer told me he had a few people trade in the Porsche for it).
Another interesting fact is the sell the EVO for AU$90K (US$55-60K)!, which probably explains why i didn't see one.
I can't wait to get it! For now I bought some WRC and STi T-shirts.
