I find most 'performance luxury' cars quite boringThis is a wonderful thread.
Some people get the same feeling by being inside a blubber clad, leather coated rolling multimedia population conditioning and dumbing down machine. I hear the new S-class totally drives itself and is full of superficially very useful but very ugly things like cameras and microphones and GPS and all kinds of memory all of which are hooked up to each other.
Very glad to still have an old fashioned car with a few modern toys to make it a little more accessible, and moddable. Times really did used to be better!
Yah, tell me about it. I've driven AMG's, Maseratis, you name it and I came out of the experience with a "nice but meh, slightly more exciting but costs 5x as much as a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord V6" feeling. Not to say that those are particularly fun or exciting cars either, but if you just want something straightforward, "luxurious", smooth and powerful that's enough for most people. I think a Maserati or AMG Mercedes might shine at higher speeds, way higher speeds than most people are willing to drive. Maybe its the bling factor.I find most 'performance luxury' cars quite boringthey don't stand out, they don't feel raw, they don't give me good, fun times I guess
