My 07 sti popped another motor

I just havnt had very good luck this year with my sti. In January I blew my gt3586r turbo after putting only 2k miles on in. I upgraded to a gtx3576r an just did aem standalone with 3 bsr map and after 2500 miles my motor locked up): this is the 3rd motor this car has seen and it was built with good quality parts. I'm trying to get a sponsorship going for the car but I don't really know how to approach any companies with a car that doesn't run. The car made 478awhp and 428awtq on 22psi. I've invested a lot of money and time into her but I don't think I can afford another motor or keep making the payments on a car that doesn't run.

Have they all been built by the same person? That really isn't all that much power to be eating up built motors unless you have some serious build quality/tune issues.
I agree with above, you need to seek a different tuner/builder. Something doesn't seem right with blowing up motors every 2,000 or so miles.
The first two motors were factory subaru motors and suffered from ringland failure. This motor was built by suba performance out of Denver Colorado. They are very good shop. I have not yet gotten the car to them. Been trying to figure out what to do. When this all happened my pcv valve blew off my short block doing a pull on the highway. Speed was around 130mhp and rpms were at around 5800. My understanding is that there had to be an excessive amounts of pressure built up in the engine to blow that off and shoot oil.

My advice is to go to another shop/tuner/builder (or even ship the car there). There is no reason why you should be blowing motors running 22psi.
I don't think its builder related. The shop that built the motor is a very very reliable shop amd is one of the bigger shops for subaru here in denver. I think it is tune related i was retuned the day that my motor blew. My air/fuel was at 12.4 through red line after tune. I don't habe much experience with the aem I should plug my laptop in an see I can find anything in a datalogs

Where did you get your car tuned? Harvey, MAC, Revolutions? Interested to see why it keeps blowing up on you. What pistons are in the car?

Yup that's your problem.

Any way to get one shop to build, install, and tune your car? Less fingerpointing when something like this happens :(
Last place I had tune the car was racing trenz. The shop that does the building doesn't do tuning but they use harvey the boost creep ltd, mac, and I think revolutions but not sure. I had been referred to trenz to tune my car because the tuner (yi) knowledge with aem standalone

Motor build:
Cp pistons standard size 99.5 bore 9.0:1 compression
Cosworth main and rod bearing
Manley h-beam rods
Arp block bolts
Sti Nitrite treated crank

Kelford 264 cams
Supertech black nitride intake valves 1mm oversized
Super Inconel exhaust valves 1mm oversized
Supertech spring amd retainer kit.

Tuners have been doing very well with Cobb speed density so you could get rid of the AEM EMS and find a reputable Cobb tuner.
Ill look into it. Trying to just get the car running again:/

I wouldn't take my car there even if they sponsored me. I asked them about tuning and they told me to sell my AP and do an Open source tune. They rolled my fenders and did a crappy job and then went to say my car had been in an accident, when it never has been. Just sketchy place and people there.
Try Harvey or Mac, I have two friends that have STi's tuned by both. (One each) and their cars runs flawlessly. Good luck man.
How is revolutions in the springs? thinking about taking mine there
Yeah I'm kind of thinking the same thing:/ would I be able to go after them for anything they tuned my car amd not even 3 hrs after I got it tuned this happened.

I would, put them on blast on every local forum possible and on Facebook. I would also talk to them and see what they can do with my block before I get other people involved.
cut your losses, homie. part out what you can save, get a new oem shortblock, and go back to stage 2.
i, personally, would never build a car i was still making payments on.
^^^^ it's gonna take a lot more then just a short block and I've already popped 2 oem short blocks cobb stage 2 tuned. Its not a daily driven car. The car payment is the cheapest part about this car, I only owe 4300ish on the car.

it sounds like 3 bad tunes or bad gas.

i was running 390whp on 93 and 423whp on e85 with my stock shortblock with no issues
Like I said I was running cobb accessport stage 2 ots map popped two oem motors not tuner related never had seen a dyno till aug 20 when this happened. Now running aem standalone and just got my first tune on the car. This vehicle has also been involved in 2 dront end collisions and I'm wondering if the chassis is not aligned and that is having an effect
