i dunno if this goes here. we're a two-subaru family. it *sucks* to have to carry two transmitters. it's the "do you have a wad of remotes in your pocket or are you just happy to see me" syndrome. anyone know of a solution to this? ideally, i'd like a transmitter with four buttons--two for each car--and would work with the stock receivers. my cursory google searches are coming up empty.

Here, try this...

1) Get some "Super Glue".
2) Apply glue to back of both remotes.
3) Stick remotes together.
4) Count to ten for drying time.
5) Remember which "Half" of your NEW remote works which car....

How about separate key chains like I have. No point carrying all your keys for all your cars when you can only drive one at a time.

Or some velcro with adhesive on the back. They could still be separated without a big fuss (especially if the adhesive doesn't hold to well). :wink:

yeah. hmm. so far alfredob1's suggestion seems the best. but there's got to be more compact/elegant solution. i mean, come on, i can't be the first guy on the planet with two cars with remotes. it's more likely i'll be driving both cars; it's very unlikely my wife will be driving the sti anytime soon. so this benefits me more than her.

We just do the separate set of keys routine. (We = My wife and I) Assuming you have the same alarm/keyless entry system on both, you could just go through the whole add/remove transmitter thing. Set one transmitter and add it to your other system. Only thing about this is when you hit your unlock button it will unlock both cars...

yeah, that's what the dealer suggested but i worry about forgetting to lock the other car as you drive away.

It does suck. I got a key fob for my ford, one for my Sti, one for the house alarm system, and one that displays q2 min numerical passwords so I can access my computer at work. I must say the key chain looks pretty stupid
