Gold flecks, FOR SURE!

Over the phone deposit: $1000 on Mastercard
Flight from LAX to Seattle: $150 on Mastercard
Airport Shuttle to Dealership: $30 on Mastercard
Hotel in Eugene, Or: $75 on Mastercard
3 Tanks of gas: $90 on Mastercard

Getting my STi at MSRP and
already being broken in: Priceless

After an exhausting search and contacting every dealer west of the Mississippi, and being told that there was no way I would find a car sitting on a lot for under $5K over MSRP, my search is complete.

In June, Subaru hosted their ride and drive at Firebird Raceway in Pheonix where all of the dealers sent reps to try out the car. While there, discussions amongst dealers whent as follows; "since every other dealer is charging $5K I guess we should too." can anyone say price fixing?

Well when the second allotment arrived over the weekend the phone began to ring on Sunday afternoon. All the dealers said about the same thing; "Your Blue car is here, $5K over", "If I can talk the owner into $4500 do we have a deal?" and the best one, "I sell it to you for $2500 over but you can't have Blue you'll have to take Silver and there is an additional $500.00 prep fee." $500 for a PDI that take 2-3 hours?!

Well after answering the phone all afternoon I finally just let the next call go to voice mail. After a quick nap I checked who had called. Sure enough another dealer. "If you are still interested in an STi, we got some in over the weekend, we selling for MSRP no hasstles." Well after I picked my self up off the floor. I called the Dealer. Not only did he have cars, he had every color & wheel combination. A 20 Minute phone conversation with the salesman and they had my buisness and my deposit. Another 20 Minute call and the financing was done. The only crutch, I would have to fly to Seattle from LA to pick up my car. And then drive it back 1100 miles. Oh this was to good to be true.

After the flight I arrived at the dealer and in less than 30 minutes I was on my way back to LA. THIS WAS BY FAR THE EASIEST CAR BUY I HAVE EVER BEEN INVOLVED IN. (And there have been many)

In case you are wondering, and I'm sure you are:

Carter Subaru
Seattle, WA
Salesman: Joe Spitz
Fiancing: Dan Lambrose
17225 Aurora Ave N
Seattle, WA 98133

As of the time I left the dealer on Tuesday 5:30PM, they still had one on the lot unsold, and at least two due this month unspoken for. If your looking for a car on the west coast this is the way to go.

As for my imperessions: Simply WOW.

Photo's:

Hell everyone has posted photo's of their cars beautifly parked in thier driveways, Ill post my photo's after July 29th. Why? because I have two days of testing Formula One cars at Buttonwillow Raceway on the 21st and 22nd, And a Star Mazda race at Sears Point on the 24th-27th. Be sure that my STi will be along and will see much track time.

Carter Subaru...
if they're committed to msrp and no hassles, you might want to call 'em and suggest they posted what they have available on the forum. three others have done this.

Hi. Yes, I do price these at MSRP.

And I have 2 still available and just posted in the STi/waiting list forum about them (white/silver, blue/gold).

These are available and expected later this month (July).

Please contact me at 206 769-7821 if you would like to get one of these or be added to the list for next month (August) etc.

I'm in Seattle.

Thank you.
