I just read a review for the '03 UK sti. (new body, 6 spd)

It's listed at £26,900 for the 'performance pack' version with gives the 2.0L 300hp/299lb ft. 4.6sec 0-62mph!! But there's no weight.

This magazine is so much better than any American car mag it's sick. I wish we had something like this here. Not to mention British car tv shows.

This magazine is so much better than any American car mag it's sick.

It's funny, I was thinking the exact same thing after reading last month's issue of Car. It makes magazines like Motor Trend look like fluff written by auto industry insiders.

Everthing about Car is better, especially quality and quantity. I really like the summary of all the cars at the end of the magazine - they don't have any problems proferring their opinions.

Is there some kind of 10% tax in the UK? b/c £26,900 = $43,175 US, I assume this performance pack is equivalent to PPP...

17.5% VAT (value added tax). Similar to sales tax. Difference is that in the UK the price is always displayed with VAT already added so what you see is what you pay.

Cars (and a lot of other things) are notoriously expensive in UK compared with USA (and most of mainland Europe) and there is an article about it in this issue.
