I was wondering since Honda and Mitsubishi both have auto plants located in the U.S., if Subaru has a plant in the U.S. I always hear the common saying that the japanese and german cars are always built well, but if these cars are built in the U.S. does that mean their quality goes down? By 'built well' do people mean engineered well or literally built well?

I really can't comment on this too-far, but to say that Legacy's and Outback's I've heard have some manufacturing flaws you don't see in Impreza's and Forester's. I've heard this from more than a few people.

The paint on the Legacy/Outback, though, from what I have heard is far superior to the paint on the Impreza/Forester.
