If you do autox then I would suggest the STi over the WRX. Just get a safe tune and your car will run forever (also get a Killer B oil pickup too :lol
Making the upgrade to an sti
Hello, after getting into the car scene about a year an a half ago. i have decided i really need to get a different car. right now i am driving a stanced tc. but before you flame me, it was bought by my parents for me and did with what i had. making it into a stanced car because the performance was pitiful. As of right now i am really looking into getting a 2004-07 sti. i have went and test drove a couple and i love them and i have also test drove a 12 wrx. i have a budget of around 19k and am wondering if making the move to the sti would be a good one. im looking for a car that is gonna be good on the autox track and be reliable. what should i look out for and what "hidden" costs do i need to make sure i have the funding for before i make the jump? thank you

I'm actually on the same boat. I too came from a stanced tC that my parents had bought me. Planning to pick up an 04 Sti next Monday for $15k. Pretty excited.
With 19k, Id get a s2k for autocross...and youll have money to play with depending on how much you pay for the s2k
