Are maintenance costs going to be prohibitive on the STi? I was looking at Brembo's site, and this is what they say:

"Brembo's High Performance Caliper utilizes two pads per caliper. Prices noted are per pad unless otherwise stated."

The price listed for the WRX is $88.75. That's $355 for the front brake pads!!! What is an Oil filter going to cost?

Depends on how often you use the brakes.

In general, you can expect that the better the car the more replacement parts will cost. You have to take that into account (not to mention insurance and gas mileage) when you're deciding if you can afford it. Subarus are really reliable, so I wouldn't be too worried about maintenance.

Anyone know how long the Brembo pads are good for? I may be willing to pay $350 for brake pads (!!!) if it's once every 3 years... but if it's a once a year cost... HMM....

If they wear like normal brakes do than I don't have a problem with them b/c I haven't had to replace my brakes yet and I've had the car 3 years. But what would you say the average wear time for the Brembos is?
