So my battery is shot, and since i need to replace it, figured i would look into lightweight options. i found quite a few, and have zero clue about any of them. Any insights into what option to go with? and what type of tie down i'd need? (06 sti)
still can Subaru Intercooler Kits, XS Power Inc.I'm guessing that isn't the same company that sold cheap chinese intakes, and intercooler set ups about 15 years ago. You could get a full XS power fmic with piping, couplers and clamps for like $350-400 for a dsm back in the day.
comparing the dimensions like that is surprisingly time consuming when you're also comparing every other spec, but that's what I've been doing. It may be more cost effective for me to just pick up a cheap NOCO jump pack to match my chargeridk how they categorize it, like group 35 is what dimensions but from a logical standpoint. Anything that is the same or smaller dimension (height, width, length) as the OEM battery will fit. So I guess logically, just look for the cold crank and amps you want/required, and then measure the dimensions.
That's what pushed me to go ahead and replace my old worn out battery.I've been stranded before with an Odyssey battery and an Antigravity Li battery. Whatever weight loss is not worth it on a daily driven car.
iirc they use "C grade" cells and they have that "restart" thing antigravity has for an extra $100. They told me 800CA, 20 to 40ah depending on price. Found out about them on reddit.well it's not a daily driven car. it's a weekend toy and it's slowly becoming more of an autocross/trackcross focused car. i drive it once every 2 weeks or so, only on nice days. and less in winter. it rarely sees rain, never sees snow anymore. and just chills in the garage.
370 for a lithium battery? with no extra mount needed? what does that weigh? i'm intrigued
"I have an H5 ready to go, it is 230 L lengthFor the weights they are quoting I assume most of the shell is just empty air. It would have to be. So it just acts as a "bracket" essentially. If I were relocating the battery to the trunk I wouldn't want that extra air, but since they seem to be semi-custom I hope they will stuff whichever capacity you want into the smallest possible case as well.
