I just got my black Copolymer Sphere shift knob from Chris @ Lathe Werks. Just like this one:

I must say, this thing is a work of ART! It is perfect in every way, size, weight, look, feel.
I can't say enough good things about it. AND it does not get frosty cold or ultra hot.

This is the 3rd after market knob I have had on the STi (yes, i'm very picky), first was the Prodrive (way too tall & awkward), second was the Kart Boy (better than the Prodrive, but still not "perfect").....Now the Lathe Werks knob....PERFECTION!

I can truly say, I highly recommend this knob.

***PICS COMING SOON***

Thanks again Chris!

What's the weight like on this knob vs. stock? Lighter/heavier?
I have not weighed it, but it feels similar to stock.

I'll let Chris chime in here.........

Hey guys,

The weight of this knob is around 75grams of pure Acetal Copolymer. Its a pretty awesome material becuase of its ease of machinability and great heat characteristics. Ive been able to hold it when it was 15*F outside without gloves. Its about the same temp as the steering wheel all the time, alot better than the metal ones I have been making.
Ive noticed that the copolymer knobs give a bit more feedback to the driver where the metal acted as a damper by vibrating much slower due to the extra weight. This material doesnt rattle or anything like that, its more like a direct connection to the transmission, similar effect of adding TiC or KB shifter bushings.
It is lighter than metal but not too light. Ive heard some people rave about really heavy 1-pound Stainless steel knobs because they "shift by itself", but if I wanted to do that I'd buy an automatic ;) Thats just my opinion though.

Im working on it buddy :) I have a relaxed week now since I just finished my 18 page lab report on Signal Filtration and Rotational Speed Measurement for my Mech Engineering class :D
I should have it done in a few days!

That's great to hear. I have a knob on the way.
You should get it by Friday!

This shift knob is the specific for the STi and has a cutout in the bottom for the reverse ring on the 6-speed. You can see the cutout here:

It is a direct-thread application which has the M12x1.25 threads cut right into the copolymer material for a tight screw-on installation. (Tight meaning snug, not the punk lingo mad tyte y0)

This knob, and 2 other copolymer styles for the WRX will be on the TurnInConcepts website under the pages: SUBARU / CGCI PARTS / WC Lathe Werks. Clint is working on uploading the new knobs today, so they should be ready to order soon.
However, I have prepaid orders for knobs right now so I have been making them as Clint gets orders for them. I have not had the time to develop an inventory. If the inventory reads 0, you can still order one, I will receive your order info from Clint and get to work on it soon as possible.

Since I am not a vendor, all orders must go through the TurnInConcepts.com website, but I am on this forum and my webmail accounts to respond to any questions several times every day.

Thanks for your interest !

I either got the first, or one of the first, models of these... I just didn't want a metal knob because of the temperature issues.

This one is perfect for me. 2" ball, no logo, no nuttin.

Chris is excellent to deal with and supports his products well.

I've gotten two friends of mine to order these too... :)

Knob is here. Quality is excellent. Looks so deep, so high quality. Has a good weight to it. Chris has awesome customer service too. Can't wait to put my car back together for the sake of trying out the new shift knob. ...among other goodies... ;)

HERE are my two newest creations!

WHITE Acetal Copolymer STi Sphere shift knob:

this one is yours "kwlsti"

GROOVED Acetal Copolymer STi Sphere shift knob:

Both measure 1.95" diameter, about 80 grams.
If there is interest, TurnInConcepts will add these to their website as part of my product line.

Im not allowed to post prices or links because I am simply the distributor, not a registered vendor. Hopefully Clint @ TiC can post a direct link, but this knob is on the TiC website under SUBARU / CGCI PARTS / WC LATHE WERKS

Another awesome creation from the master at Lathe Wreks.

The grooved one looks sickening.

I'm very thrilled with my metal one.
