I don't vape either....maybe we need a support group.:ROFLMAO: I'm super familiar with the ISSO role, it's changed quite a bit over the years and I'm happy with the direction it's taking as cybersecurity matures, It's a good field to be in! It is boring, but the older I get the more I enjoy boring.
i dont mind boring cause it pays well haha. I always heard, do what you love....i was like NOOOOO....do what you can tolerate that will pay you enough to do what you love when not at work haha. if i could do anything for the same pay i get now, i'd be a mechanic, but as a mechanic i'd get probably 1/2 what i get now. eventually i could work my way up to what i make i'm sure, but it would take a very long time. and in that time, i'll likely be an ISSO 3 lol.

Cool good luck and hope you get asking or above.

No vape here and still no radio in the car, LoL. No way your typical STi owner and wasn't almost 20 years ago. Due to some upcoming surgeries I'm considering it may end up sitting for a while next year.

thank you, i hope so too. we got one offer for 15k under asking haha. go figure right. but we'd still make a decent amount from that and are thinking of countering (they want an additional 12k in closing assist from us). so hopefully we can work that out and have it sold before long. not sure what the buyer will do though.

and yeah i'm definitely not the typical sti owner haha.

I gotta go back to the house across the street, OO passed away and stepson got house in 2016, guess he had gambling issues but with housemates was able to keep house until his stroke last year. Rolled to one of those we buy houses groups in May 2022, they completely renovated the interior and stuck paint on a pig on the exterior. I estimate they spent ~$45k on $193k original purchase, sold for $319k in August. Woman bought it and detailed it a little further claimed in ad she changed her mind about moving to Michigan and listed for $337.5k less then a month after purchase! Sold in 3 days for $340k! New owner is now over two weeks into renovating to make it his by finishing basement, widening driveway, installing new shed, etc. I'm on the wrong end of the money tree!

dang that's wild lol. mine we bought and updated just about everything. new floors throughout, painted the whole interior, new light fixtures everywhere, new bathroom mirrors/shower doors replaced. new mailbox, landscaping/plants, added a stone section for the trash can on the side of the house. probably some other stuff i'm forgetting lol. all in all, we put about 18-20k into it, plus doing most of it ourselves, bought the house for 333k, and we are asking 415k. the market helped with some of that, and the upgrades with the rest. and the online estimates are also saying it's worth near that. we will honestly take 402k or more so long as the buyer isnt asking for closing cost. as taht would cut into our profits lol. hopefully we get some showings/offers this coming weekend.

Yeah I think so too. I’m hoping I can get it done before too long. I’ve also debated on a glossy white lol. I really can’t decide.

and yeah unfortunately I’m a contractor. Not gov. So idk if we will get a cost of living adjustment. But I’m in policy drivenIT. It’s boring but pays well and has good room for improvement
Hey, more infosec/IT people! 👋

Haven't looked back since I made the switch.
Nice! I remember when IT and Engineers were the stereotype WRX owners, not sure what it is these days, but sure does beat having the Vape stereotype.

yeesss more IT people, me too!
no vapes or flat brims in my car either rofl

relevant to build, those colors look really nice.

thank you. i just gotta decide on the color, and yes no vapes haha. although my hats are slightly curved, still on the flat side haha. funny enough i hate computers, but IT pays the bills and allows me to do stuff outside of work so because of that i love it. and i love the people i work with too.
What are 5 things you'd tell anyone who wanted to start Autocross?
idk if i can think of 5. i'd say get out there. go get a decently aggressive alignment, learn about tire pressure and what to look for if it's under/over inflated when running (if you rub the sidewall, add pressure). and have atire pressure gauge with you, as the tires heat pressure will change. and then just get out there and do it. it's not super hard on the car, can be done without race brake pads or anything crazy like that. seat time/instruction is king, and youlll see slow cars going fast because of the driver, the bigger the course the wider this gap will be. and mod after you get into it, not before. do a handful of autocrosses, then read the rules and figure out what class you want to compete in, and mod according to the rulebook. also, walk the course before your first run in the morning. it'll help you see where you need to go.

tune by Sean at speedytunes

all in all, the last dyno made 377whp/401wtq. However, I have returned it since then cause it didn’t make that power after it got off the dyno because of the tune Cleo at Iag made. The max wgdc table wasn’t changed on adjustments and by the time summer came it was down 3.5psi. I only had Cleo tune it to keep the warranty on the Iag block. The minute the warranty was up speedytunes tuned it. And it’s been running flawlessly ever since.if i had to guess, currently i'm likely in the 365whp/390wtq range View attachment 62734
Dude I must say how do you have all that an only make 377 hp. Its.kinda depressing knowing I will.never get the numbers i.want with what I had in mind.

Do keep in mind, all else the same with a different turbo choice, but same cost, and I could be in the 400s. I’m also on pump gas. E85 and my setup would make in the 420-430 range when it’s maxed out. But if you bought this car to go fast in a straight line, you got the wrong car. It takes a big budget to go fast in a straight line. That said. My car is pretty quick. And it’s a blast to drive in the street. I don’t outrun most modern muscle cars. But I keep with them, and pending their tire/driver I can outrun them on track (circuit). I could also beat them in a dig race if it’s 1/8 mile. Quarter will depend again on tire/mods/driver.
My best friend has had 4 mustangs, a gt500. And 2 vettes. Haven’t driven the c7 z06 yet. But even with the 731whp gt500 and all the mustangs being in the 420-450 whp range. Mine is more fun to drive to me.
Have you ever raced a stock ls motor ? An won??
Idk. I have raced plenty of cars with ls motors. Won some lost some. Are you referring to a straight line? If so what type of car and what type of ls? An old z28 with an ls1 will be VASTLY different than a gutted 240 with an ls3 or a z06 with an ls7.

no problem. it's all about the fun factor. it's really easy to get caught up in horsepower or can it beat x in a roll/drag race, cause that's 80% of the car community, and the big 1320 and trc youtube channels/video makers mostly focus on that. and dont get me wrong, straight line speed is fun, but so are corners. autocrosses are the most fun i have had, and i say that as someone who started with drag racing too. getting onto a road course is a blast as well, although it was much more challenging. hopefully this summer i can get on track again but with an instructor. do the autocrosses man, you'll have such a blast.

Great build! I got to digging for your build after commenting on mine. We have very similar mods, but I guess it’s the standard Subaru path to glory 😂. I love the hawkeyes and I’m super jealous of your 93 octane! I‘m stuck with 91 out west.

you are running 91 on track? lol i'm scared to run 93 on track, even on autocross days i add torco to the tank just to help give it a bit of knock protection.

and thanks man. i have had it a decade and i really love the hawk. dont get me wrong i like all of them, but something about the gd lines just does it for me. i'm reading your thread and now i'm debating those tires haha. i'm about 90% sure i'm going to go ahead and order wheels and run 265/35s on mine. i have a hard time spending any money on myself, especially with me buying a house last weekend lol. and having a newborn....daycare aint cheap lol.

91 is fine on track as long you’re motor is tuned for it. I do put 1-2 gallons of 101 unleaded in each tank just for some protection. Also, I make sure I only run a quality gas like chevron and VP fuels. Thebig trade off is I’m missing out on a lot of power. And yeah GDs look sick

that's fair lol. mine is on 93 and of course tuned for it. i have retuned since the last dyno, and did so on the street, i'd guess i'm in the 365-370 range, but that was dynojet number guesses too lol. i saw yours was on a mustang dyno, idk what i'd make on one of those. probably 320 ish.

and lets be real, they all can look sick, minus that new wrx lololol that thing just looks awful. the hatch is great for sure.
