Little more info:

I thought it was pretty cool. Like I said before it's all in Japanese, except for one part near the middle where thier's this English dude talking about the WRC 2002. They do 0 - 100, 0 - 200, 0 - 400 and top speed. An autox style time trial. 2004 STi versus bug-eyed STi track tests. Near the end there's a 2004 STi vs. 2004 STi Spec C vs. bug-eyed STi vs. bug-eyed STi Spec C vs. Evo VII RS vs. Evo VII GSR.

There some footage of a rally fest and a review of the new RX-8. Also a review of the S401.

Note: These are all JDM cars. Not the US 2.5 STi.

Well, I had the same problem.

Go into the MPEGAV folder and double click on the .dat file and associate it with Media Player and open them with that. Works great.

You can also run the file with the VCD Player that is in the STi directory. Run VCD_PLAY.EXE then right click on the eject button. Load the AVSEQ01.DAT file from the MPEGAV directory and press play.

Can anyone do an English voice-over or subtitle?

based on clone's hint, i changed the extension to .avi. it launches and plays fine in wmp. i can now get rid of the other junk that came with it.

ok I re-downloaded it and associated with Windows Media Player...wow I didn't know it was nearly 50 minutes long! And with subtitles which is good since Japanese characters are pretty much the same as Chinese characters...will try to have someone translate it for us since I have both Chinese and Japanese friends

I like how they show the pedal work...a good way to learn the so-called "heel-toe" action
