Greetings and Salutations

I finally tst drove a 2002 Impreza WRX today(4/15/02) and man was it impressive. I was not prepared for the performance. I even got a little side ways exiting off an off ramp from the highway on to city streets. I was excellerating through a turn and the bc end broke loose(little bit of rain w/dry patches on street) first. Even more impressive was that I felt incontrol during the entire slide(however brief it was)I have seen the commercials, surfd the web for info, but came across the STI model(reading of it's release to the states eventually) so now I am holding out for the STI version(I can wait). I am really blown away by this car.

So is there a waiting list for Oklahoma(where the wind comes sweepin' down the plain) ,sorry.

I checked with Travis Subaru in Norman and they said if it comes looks like May of 2004.
Man I hope not :sad: If anyone finds out about a waiting list in Oklahoma or even one in Texas or another state nearby please let us know. I need my STi.

Jim Fergison Subaru imports dealer advizd me last week that the STI verizon will be released spring of 2003 here in the states, and told me if I wanted one to give a deposit asap...., no price yet but stating 280hp...

Yeah i talked to Ferguson the other day but they didn't say anything about deposits. Also Cable motors in Oklahoma City said they would probably start taking deposits in December. They told me looks like the STi will come March 2003 for just under 30K. I also have a dealer in Joplin that is keeping me informed on any new developements. He said he would be going to a meeting On May 5 and would let me know everything when he got back. Hopefully us Oklahoma people can stick together and well all get our STi. Ill let you know if i get anything new.

10 STi Per State?

hi i am new to this forem. I am also from oklahoma... looking for a waiting list for the STi.
I went to cable to test drive today9-2302, they said that the STi probably be here in the fall of 2003. the saddest part was that he said that only TEN STi per state will be allowed in the US. do to emissions.
I dont know what sort of basis that statement has, but its news to me.

anyways i agree with set 18. there is power in numbers.

Maybe he meant Oklahoma was to get 10 STI total, a likely number if current WRX sales are low as compared to other states .

Recent report points to ~1700-2500 STI's total for the USA.

If you guys stick together everyone who places a PRE-ORDER should be able to purchase a STI. However if you were to walk in the showroom AFTER introduction then you might be SOL.
