I am not sure, but I know that JDM STi's have it as a factory OPTION and not standard. I am pretty sure the same is true for the UK and Aussie as well, somebody correct me if I am wrong.

It would be nice to have those as at least a factory option.

That's one option I'd consider...along with getting PIAA's for fog lamps the halogen ones I'd assume are kinda weak like on the WRX, doesn't seem to improve visibility for me...although the brighter lights might just reflect fog more

I would get HID if it came as an option. That's one thing for sure I like about the Mini Cooper S, BMW 3series and just about every other European car out there..HIDS..

In the states about the only Japanese sports car with HIDS are the S2000, 350Z, G35...

I won't drive another car without HIDs. Of course the Celicas weren't offered with them as options until current model, but I am in LOVE with my Philips retrofit kit. Unreal difference, especially if you drive a lot at night in the country like I do.

Yes, I would opt for HIDs if I could, definitely. I have a set of Sylvania HID auxilary lights in place of the stock fogs on my Legacy and can't belive the difference they made.

SnowbordrWRX, I don't think the STi comes with fogs. Only one I have seen with them is in the pic of the STi with all the options offered in Japan, which I doubt we will get.

MKIVSupra - what? really?? I thought those were just fog light covers over the fog lights...that would suck if it didn't come with them. I think that doesn't make sense especially when the WRX DOES come with them.

Re: Price?

Yeah with that optional body kit offered in Japan you get fogs, but I don't think the plain STi comes with fogs. Didn't this come up before on this forum and someone with an STi said there are no fogs under there. I thought that was kind of weird too. Unless they figure with HIDs you don't really need them. I don't know but I would have to put some on it somehow. One nice thing about the auxilary HIDs I have on my Legacy is they are not car specific and I will be taking them off when I sell my Legacy. Maybe I can put them on the STi but I don't think they would fit too good, at least in the fog light area.

oh...:D of course there are kits that have a two-way switch with one operating the built-in driving, and the other operating a built-in fog..might be nice. i just want them small enough that i can conceal them decently.

Unless there has been an change from the current "Bug eye" STi there are no foglights under the covers. I asked Bulett that question when he first started posting pictures of his STi. He said that there are no lights under the covers but all the wiring and switches are in place. So it would seem all you would need would be the lights themselves. That's if they didn't put them in the STi that we are expecting.
