I am considering changing out the rear wing and was interested in changing out entire trunk with a carbon fiber trunk and keeping the spoiler simple (also weight reduction). Are carbon fiber parts available yet for the 04 wrx/sti. If so were do I find them? Anyone know what you can expect to pay?

Expect to pay alot.

The s2000 rear CF trunk was over $2,000 if i remember correctly.

price does not seem too bad and only 11 pounds! I am sure my existing trunk and that massive wing weigh a lot more that that. I would rather go with no wing at all (of course I will keep the stock wing for resale etc) and attract less attention from police. Also look much more like a sleeper.

Thats a pretty nice trunk for that price but whats up with the light reflections, it looks wavy?

It may look good in pictures, but for that price, I'd bet you have fitament issues. But then the edges at least look rolled, which is usually a sign of a CF product that has received more attention.

No one will know until someone tries it! You might ask over at NASIOC. I'm sure they've had the discussion 3 or 4 times and they'll be happy to flame you for asking.

it's hard to believe that the S2000 CF trunk cost over 2G's a PO member had made some CF trunks for preludes....he was sellin them for less than 600, which was a pretty decent deal cuz he was doin it himself an had to pay for his molds etc. trunks came out lookin perfect.

just make sure that the CF hood/trunk has a perfect weave, no blemishes, rolled edges and a nice shine

The s2000 trunk was made by Amuse, 100% CF, and it was $2k....

The CF trunk that vividracing sells for the 04 STi is CF on top of fiberglass... hence the price of $509 + shipping.........
