Ok, I know there are many people making quite a bit more money than me out there, and being the age that I am, insurance is going to kill me if I get a WRX, let alone an STi. I was just curious how much all of you have to pay for insurance on your WRXs/STis. JJ, how much do you pay for your RS? I got a quote for 1500 for 6 months and I almost died. I can get less than that, but its still not going to be as cheap as what I am paying now on my Honda. Anyway, any info is appreciated.

I don't know if you would be able to use them but 21st Century (www.i21.com) seems to be all right. I did a quote using their quote tool and I might be paying between 6 and 7 hundred dollars every six months.

Thanks man, I'll call them tonight and see what they can do. Being as young as I am really hurts me, even though I couldn't have a cleaner driving record. Oh well, c'est la vie!

I wasl told for the WRX that comprehensive would cost me about CAD$4700 for 1 year -- the first year, anyway.
So... that's like US$500, right?

I think my age is doing me a great injustice. At 19 it's hard to find a reasonable quote, even though I almost have my degree and my grades are well above average. I'm thinking I should get a break when I turn 20 though because that will be 5 years without an accident or citation...so hopefully that will help. Does anybody know the currency change from Canadian to U.S.? What are most of you ages on this forum? I feel like I am one of the youngest, but I could be wrong.

USAA, (military members insurance co.) I went from $100/mo to $150 ($1000 deductable), after getting two speedy ticks. I dont expect my rates to be any higher than they are now, since I am in a class with cameros and firebirds. The kicker... I drive a Tracker, thats right, a 95 Geo. There I admitted it, Im not so embarrassed by it now, I have come to terms.

I put in a custom ground camshaft, a header and uped the pipe from 1 3/8" to 2", an air intake w/k&n filter and a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch/plate. Painted it 99' porsche 'guards red' and put some alloy wheels on it. If it wasnt for the 5.12:1 gear ratio I would do well over 100mph.. I hit 110 with it. I know that doesnt sound like much compared to everyones sports cars, well... ITS A TRACKER! and, I beat a beetle the other night down the 5 South into San Diego. It might not have been the car I beat, but the driver... He might just have been scared to go too fast. The world may never know.

well, not all the chicks like my WRX. Till I take them for a ride and scare the hell out of them. Then they love it and dont want to ride in it anymore, instead they go around and brag to all their ****r civic friends that my car owns. You could always go for the same effect. I used to drive a Geo Metro. I loved the car. Got forged pistons and better cam and all, CAI, Exaust. About 2.5K in engine work done and 100 shot of Nos through that little 4 cyl. engine did alot. But it was funny. It was back when I lived in colorado in a small town. After I put the 100 shot of Nos in it and didnt tell anyone and did a stealth install and didnt let anyone under the hood then everyone thought I owned in that car, including the chicks. I had to say though im sure I had the only 230 HP Metro in the state lol. And before any of you ask no the geo didnt take that 100 shot well. engine lasted 20K Miles after I put it on and used it to kick all the civics asses in town. Thats also how I learned to tune cars :smile: The metro died at 45K miles.

I'm sure the STi insurance will be based on the WRX, with an adjustment for the higher cost.
