I'd like some help on some number crunching I'm doing.

Depending on whom I ask, I may not be able to obtain an insurance quote for the STi since it's not yet on sale here. The price for full coverage (theft, loss, hail, jealous EVO's, collision, fire, etc.) varies from one individual to the next and from one type of use to another, BUT what shouldn't vary much is the proportional increase in cost from coverage on a WRX to coverage on an STi.

To those of you who can obtain quotes for both the WRX and the STi -- hopefully for non-race use, and hopefully those of you in locations where the STi is actually currently on sale -- I would really appreciate some comparisions so that I can get a good feel for an STi rate.

Remember: the numbers themselves are fairly irrelevant; what counts is the ratio of the two... at least I'm hoping.

thx.
:)

i work at an insurnace brokerage and from my knowledge, you cannot get an accurate quote without a VIN number, or at least detailed model information (providing its in the computer allready). soooo i dont think getting a quote on an STi anywhere in america is going to happen, at least until its us specs are released.

Also, i actually am not sure if this applies to only NY or all of usa, but effective may 1st there was a 20% rate increase across all coverages for all people on with all insurance companies. the reason for this was insurance fruad via the number of drivers in the household. so if u renewed before may1st lucky you :) if u have to renew shortly (at least in NY for sure) ur rates are going to be significantly higher

NY only, thank god.
my insurance guy woulda told me.
considering its a high-performance vehicle whilst the WRX is dubbed an econobox. probably 15-25% more than a WRX.
