·Hmm, The thing is the insiders would have to post that info. themselves. You can't rat on your inside people. It just isn't right.
The insider that I communicate with did not break his/her ethical agreement to maintain corporate confidentiality. I respect that person all the more for it. And that is all that I have to say about that.

secret my friend lol but my buddy scott who was at the press conference today told me ahead of time....and we talked on the cell phone lol and let me tell ya all i heard was screaming and alot of applausing not to mention i think i nutted my pants when i heard 2.5L turbocharged 300HP / 300 FT/lbs of TORQUE man were those the numbers i never expected lol i guess we finally got a real muscle car from JAPAN!!! whoooooooooooot

I'm glad you guys are all happy with the specification. JJ and ScoobyDo both know who I am, and can confirm that I am legit (especially JJ).
I feel bad that some of you were led astray for so long, and even though I would not disclose any information, I warned you in the "take this info to the bank" thread.
Worm's information was gleaned 2nd hand through his ties with a somewhat well known Subaru dealership in Tampa FL. You can see now how reliable it was/wasn't. I know who he is, but I see from posts on other sites, that some other people figured it out as well.
Needless to say, the US car is wonderful, and it was quite gratifying for us to watch the reaction to the surprise news yesterday. Some people tried to ruin that surprise for you, I feel it was SOA's right and privelage to announce it under their terms.
Enjoy the car guys...here's to hoping that they all go to good homes.

OK so Worm was wrong lets all get over that. I'll admit I was putting more weight in his info than others but that's not because I didn't believe the other posters but because I didn't wan't to believe Subaru would give us a 2.5 liter. I wanted the 2.0. I wanted 150 BHP per liter.

I am very happy with the announcement Suabru made. I can't wait to get my 2.5 liter WRX STi. Lets keep this bulletin board hospitable and friendly.

But yes for once like everyones been sayen now people will want to import a USDM spec STI to there homelands!!!!
I cant believe we get a better STI then JAPAN...that makes me feel sooo gooooey and happy with a middle finger ahahhaha well not at japan but to the EVO ahahahhahaha

I'm just glad the announcement is finally over. It started to get a little too tense in here over some of the speculation. It was unreal in here for a few weeks with all of the new rumors flying and it's incredible that so much of what ended up being true didn't come in until the end! Unreal hush-hush by SOA.
Either way, we should all call a truce and let it fall. We know what we're getting now. It was fun to guess but that's all over now. Thanks to ANYONE AND EVERYONE that was trying to give us information. I really don't care who was right and who was wrong. I can contribute many an afternoon wasted daydreaming because someone was kind enough to give us some info, right or wrong. We should all thank all of our 'sources' for that.

Besides, owning a WRX or STi is like belonging to a community. I have made a point of waving at other WRX's as I drive (unfortunately there are only a handful where I live) and I plan on doing the same to other STis also. It is a friendly gesture I got use to with driving my motorcycle - Jeep owners also do the wave thing around here I believe.
So I encourage everyone to give a wave to all fellow hot Subies on the road - but don;t forget to give the finger to any EVOs you come across :wink:
