Went with CRVHKR. "Curve Hacker".

Why? Because if any of you have read the March (I think) review of the UK STi, one of the last lines in the article is: "this car doesn't carve curves- it hacks".

Add to that what I do for a living, which before hacker got a bad connotation just meant "programmer" or "systems analyst" and the like, and I saw this as the perfect one for me.

Who else has ordered plates and what is the reason behind what you are going with?

That's a good one. I like it.

I actually thought (seriously) about getting personalized plates the other day. I never had them before, but with this car i think I will. I am going with a WRC - theme to symbolize my appreciation for this sport.

How much do they cost BTW?

i've had 0260N48 reserved for a month or so. (with the help of a magic marker, it'll say "zero to 60 in 4.8.) i also reserved the 47 version. to my surprise, several of the 4.x were already taken. i wonder what cars they're on. :) my current tags are 4MLA1FN, which i *might* keep. haven't decided.

I don't know how it is in other states, but if you get a personalized plate in MS, the metal isn't stamped with the plate details. It is just printed on. Our state's personalized tags look uber-shoddy. Like something you would get done at one of those air-brush places in the mall. Have all states gone to this format? Regular plates are still stamped into the metal.

That is what I thought was so strange. My wife ordered one for her truck and they told her it would takes about 3 months to get it. I just assumed that it took that long because the convicts were lazy and don't always get around to stamping plates as fast as they should. Well 3 months later it came back and look like somebody made it with a stencil and a magic marker.

Personalized plates are printed on in Missouri as well. We are also limited to 6 characters. I think personalized plates would be cool, but I don't need that many people remembering who I am. If they can't remeber the plates, there is still that shred of doubt that I wasn't the one that cut them off at 85 mph.

let's see....big ass wing, gold wheels, radiant blue, child-swallowing scoop. hmm. i think it is best you not have a pronouncable plate since it would be too conspicuous. :)

I've got mine on my car already:

(bigger version)

Still waiting for the correct car. In Idaho you can't have a plate without a car, and you can't reserve a plate -- but you can get a plate for one car then transfer it to a new car. Hence the Mazda "STi" Special Edition Miata. Let's hope I don't convert to an EVO in the next few months. :)

lol Murley, mUndi - can u transfer the plates over to STi when u get it?
Yes, that was the idea. I thought I'd go ahead and get the plates now so I wasn't disappointed if they were taken after I got the STi. So I drive a Miata with a nonsensical plate for a while. When I get the STi I transfer teh STi plate over and reactivate my old plates for the Miata (or if I do a trade-in I

Well sure, I'd love dragons or hellhounds, but I didn't get the choice. Better than "famous potatoes" slogan. My choices: plates.pdf. Somehow the Corvette club managed to snag their own plate. We need a WRC, F1, or AutoX special plate.

My "XX STI XX" plates are on my Legacy for now. I also got mine now before someone else did. My first choice was "STI" but it was already taken. I actually need to get my plates on my Legacy. I did not put them on yet and it's been a few weeks. I wonder how long the current ones on there are good for.
