Just installed the Blitz BOV and was wondering how I tune it. I know where is a nut on the top and a allen head screw. Any advice on what I should look for as far as tuning the bov goes. Car seems to be running fine. Drove it for a while and nothing seems to be wrong so far. What happens if I turn the allen wrench clockwise or counter-clockwise?

Thanks in advance.

if u remember what your max boost is with the stock bov
turn your bov to the lowest settings yet acheieve that same boost
too tight will give u compressor surge = snake sound
too loose u will hear air loosing like a hair dryer
a bit too tight u can't tell
a bit too loose u see u losing a bit boost
perfect combination = same as stock at high boost

lots of hard running on your car to get that perfect comb :)

then take a pic to show us your setting so whoever with blitz will be happy

The bov came with instructions but it was written in japanese. If anyone has a copy of the instructions please let me know. [email protected]

I am actually venting into the atm. How do I recir with a Blitz bov?

I have read and heard so many things about aftermarket bov. I have heard and read that a bov is a must in any turbo vehicle. Others have said that a bov will make the car run rich and that it should be installed. I have talked to some people and they say that the bov won't make that much of a difference as far as richness goes. I was so confused and made a decision to get one. I will try to tune it and post pics with done.

Thanks everyone for you input and help.

Wow......confusion and you deferred to the 'change out a vital part of my new car' decision?

The question you need to ask is why? What are you getting from this thing IF you aren't messing with the car and running rich. My guess is the sound. The bypass valve in the stock car is perfectly functional and is most definitely NOT A MUST to replace.

I'd have that thing back in it's box before you end up popping something. To be brutally honest, it doesn't sound like you know what you are doing and messing with a part like that on a turbo car is not a great idea. I apologize that that sounds harsh, but there just isn't a nice way to say it.

It is a must, that is why every turbo car today comes with a BOV like the STi. They usually recir the air and when you put an aftermarket one on it vents to the atm causing you to loose a few hp. I am not sure about making the car run rich. Personally I would not bother with an aftermarket BOV unless I do some major mods, otherwise the stock one is good enough. I am not sure if the new Blitz BOVs can be made to recir the air or if you have to get a different one.

CloneGTS,

I appreciate what you are saying. I would rather have someone tell me the truth then have someone be nice to me. Thanks for the advice. I will be replacing it right away til I can have someone help me tune it.

Thanks everyone.
