Hey guys, currently building my 2018 STI Limited out to 500hp on an IAG block… Not quite sure where the torque numbers will be at, wanted to start a discussion on how much torque these cars’ factory parts can handle? I know these transmissions are sturdy and it will need a different clutch but wanted to know where I’d be at in terms of Differentials, Transfer Case, Driveline, Axels, ETC. On a little bit of a budget and don’t want to end up replacing anything unnecessary but wanted to know where the weaker points (if any) are on the car besides the clutch. Last thing I want to do is tear this car up with this much power

If you aren’t drag racing, you’ll be fine with stock parts and an upgraded clutch. Assuming you’re making 500whp, you’ll likely be around 500wtq or less. And that can be held just fine. Even with drag racing it can hold to an extent. Really just launching and that shock is what you’d have to worry about.

what turbo are you going to run

I don't know where and I don't remember when but the number 600 torque comes to mind. And I think it has to do with the gears.

The stock clutch can hold sub 400 torque.
