The RE070s are called summer tires. I know they're not recommended in snow, but how do they do in the cold? Is there some ambient temperature at which they shouldn't be driven on? Is grip affected dramatically by temperature?
It has been in the upper 30's and low 40's here for a couple of weeks and I have noticed a decreased amount of traction. It becomes more noticeable accelerating out of turns after you just start driving, ie wheel spin, possible understeer.
Anything below 7C and summer tires become to hard and grip is lost, that's why winter tires are made of softer compound. So when it gets close to the freezing point, say mid 30's, it's time to change tires.
