Ummmm, I'll try to convert.
218 miles from 11,5 gallons.

19 mpg.

19 mpg is all right but my friend with an M3 is doing that and his car is rated at 16/24.

Is that U.S. gallons or Imperial? If you're in Australia, wouldn't the former colony be stuck with the British unit?
Not that it affects the numbers a whole LOT, but...

I'm going off of a table I found:
217 miles, 11.4 Imperial gallons / 13.7 US gallons (do I have these two mixed up?)

19 mpg Imperial
15.8 mpg US ...eek!

thats what happens when you buy an expensive car that goes fast. My vette gets about 11. So I know just how it is.

I did an acurate fuel usage for you guys.
60% hard 40% normal driving with slight use of air conditioning. Also weather very hot at about 35 deg C.
(working on 4,5 litres for a gallon.)

Usage was 20 mpg.
Not bad as engine still new.

1 U.S. gallon = 0.84 imperial gallon =3.8 liters
1 imperial gallon = 1.2 U.S. gallons =4.5 liters

So,
20 miles per imperial gallon = 20*.84 = 16.8 miles per U.S. gallon.
