Deposit and taking delivery

This question is for the dealers on the forum.

Have any of you received information from your Subaru Representatives or Dealer Managers on delivery dates or allocation? My dealer says they haven’t heard anything, but I was wondering if that was representative of the rest of the Subaru dealer community.

Now that the May 1st Press Embargo is past I was hoping that SOA might be more forth-coming with delivery dates for the faithful customers that have held off purchasing a new car until their STi arrives.

I guess I can’t wait until my dealer calls me to let me know they have VIN#’s and ETA’s for their first few cars…..

I am really interested in allocation and delivery info as well.. and I am shocked that people have not posted more info on the car after the embargo has been lifted. Share the info!!

Dealers will know exactly how many cars they will get on tuesday. The 1st allocation is going to be alot smaller than what many thought.

Don't know as of yet. There might be a slight possability that we could get a few more than previously thought here real soon or it could just end up being onesies every month. As for the first allocation at most dealers, we've submitted our first allocations STi order with our #1 order already. Did that about a week and a half ago. We will be getting his car probably around end of May begining of June.

Well my new salesman just called yesterday to introduce himself, my original salesman got a manager positon at another dealer, and mentioned that if I have any questions to call blah, blah, blah... THEN he said that as far as they know they, as in STi, are on their way and they should see them in a few weeks! Now this dealer never BS'ed me before or even called me before, since I am always calling them, they've also admitted that I usually knew more about the STi then they did, so I don't know how to take what he said. They somehow have a close relationship with one of the regional reps, I think a woman that works there is married to him or something, so maybe they got some info from him... I don't know. Anyway, since the salesman left a message and I have not talked to him yet I am going to stop in there right after I check in here and introduce myself face to face and see whats up. Probably ask the same questions and say the same stuff I always do, any options(alarm maybe or some sort of STi floormats), stoneguard install(told me before they have a guy that does this), no pinstripes(since all the Subarus there have them :roll, I don't want any radio or crap accessories installed to try and increase the price, better not be a lot of miles on it, etc. I will let you guys know if I find out anything new.

EDIT:So I met the new guy and he said by a few weeks he meant 4-5 so that is about what I thought it would be. He did say there will be no test drives, other than WRXs... "if you like that then you will love the STi." Otherwise nothing new. I did pick up a new Impreza brocure with the STi in it... some misc things I noticed in it for the STi, power fold away mirrors, trunk light, 2 front cup holders... things I am sure will make everyone buy one now. :wink: They had a Java Black Pearl Impreza there and it did look real nice in person. The gold flakes in the paint sparkeled in multi colors in the sun. It has probably only been washed once and I could already see real light swirls in the sun. :roll: But from far away it looks damn nice... different in a way.

i talked my dealer(irvine subaru)today.
it's coming in 1st of june and they will get 16 units. :lol:

Got a call from my Dealer Balboa Subaru, lady said they were getting 4 STI's in about a month. She was calling top 10 people on list to get an idea about the colors people were wanting.

16!?!?!?! Damn! It looks like my dealership isn't even getting 1 STI in the first allocation. I am #1 on the list but that doesn't mean jack apparently at my Teenie-Tiny don't get no STI's subaru dealer. I am so pissed!!!! WORD!!

You lucky son of a gun!! Did he buy calpis water? Did you feel the aura of pure musical genious that surrounds him? Did you run out in front of his car when he was leaving and make an X with your arms and jump in the air? Thats what i woulda done......then he woulda ran me over, but it woulda been worth it! Peace!!
