Anyone with the 2015 sti having this problem? I just found out recently. When i was driving slowly like 5 mph and pull the hand brake, i heard a noise like the hand brake cable hitting the metal underneath. But when the car is not moving and pull the brake it doesnt heard anything.i dont know how to describe the noise, i will try to make a video.

Here is the video i made just to show you the sound from pulling the brake, i never to this when im driving. Is this normal?

not trying to be rude but... Why are you pulling the handbrake at 5 MPH? You mean 35 MPH trying to do hairpin turns? I am teasing. Expect noise... it's an emergency brake yes, but mainly used for parking, not J Turns and Rallying in stock form. Also it may be your Rear Diff making the noise since you are making the rear end axles lock up in an AWD car.

It's not meant for normal stopping. It's called emergency brake for a reason. You are driving into a parking space and can't hit the brake pedal that's meant to stop the car? The emergency brake is just a drum style brake that operates inside the rear brake disc.

Not sure why OP got slammed on this. Any car should allow its driver to use the e-brake for whatever reason in motion or not. E-brake is NOT designed to use only for parking!!

OP, my STI or any of my other cars don't make that sound when pulling the e-brake lever, whether the car is in motion or not.

I'd say getting your car check out, be sure to tell the dealership that you're testing the car in case of emergency like when there is a brake failure in the future.

From what I understand, the center diff on the STI is supposed to disengage when hand-brake is pulled.

To the people that bashed OP, please enjoy your car and stop being such a sissy ;)
