One of the local rallyists brought up his new toy to the ice-race today: A Lancer EVO VII RS. Geniune LHD, full HP. He is planning to run it in pro-rally this upcoming year. :grin:

Here are my impressions- Neat very fast vehicle :smile: but..:

--The interior makes a GC8 Impreza look like a Benz or a Lexus. It's that bad. Mind you, this was a RS spec, which is equivalent to a STi-RA, but if the EVO GSR is anything like this-- YUCK! :sad:


--Overall feeling for me was like: "Wow fast car- but I wouldn't want to drive it daily."

On first impression, I'm sticking with Subaru.

I need a daily driver/racecar. If you are looking for just a second "track/fun" vehicle, the EVO is probably a better choice. However, I can't afford two cars at this point in my life.. :smile:

After reading that link from i-club about Mitsu's shenanigans (for those of you that missed it, http://www.edmunds.com/news/feature/manufacturers/44684/article.html), I'm very heavily leaning back towards the STi. In fact, there's really no way I can see myself in an EVO after reading that. And I, too, need a reliable daily driver/sports car.

I'm still smiling about the where Mitsu hid their complaints - in "a locker in the employee locker room".

LOL. I wouldnt buy a mitsu if it meant my life. I have seen them fall apart and ive seen them in an accident. It may be a neat car but ill stick with my subie.

I've seen reviews favoring the Evo VII's interior and I've seen others favoring the STi. It's all a matter of personal preference. One thing is for sure and that is you shouldn't base your decision on the interior of either. It's not a strong point of either car. You should test drive each car and then make a decision. But of course, you can pretty much guarantee that you will NOT be allowed a test drive in either car. The majority of both (if not all) will be sold before they hit the dealers' lots.

Believe me- the interior on the EVO SUCKS! Maybe when the GC8 Impreza was still around there was debate on which is better- but the new-age interior is alot nicer.

That's beside the point- I don't trust Mitsu, like I have grown to trust Subaru. That's the biggest reason.
