:D c'mon guys and gals, you gotta start planning. :D

if you're gonna do a personalized plate, what will it be? my current plate is my login id (4MLA1FN = formula one fan), but it seems i should have something special for the sti.

since i've been longing for this car for 5+ years, maybe it should be FINALLY. it has multiple meanings. at regional WRX/STI club meets, everyone will share the sentiment. and when i finally get around that slowpoke in the left lane, they'll get the point. :)

There was this thread somewhere earlier...anyway here's a new one:

IYDKYDG - If you don't know, you don't go!

TM52 SRT - to pay homage to the 04 WRC car :)

I am gonna try for something simple to help more in distinguishing it for when all the WRXs hit the streets with the new body style also. So I will try for...

STI
XX STI XX
S T I

Something with STI in it. In fact I am going to try to get it right now and put it on my Legacy till I get the STi, before someone else gets it if someone does not already have it.

Really, I think it's going to probably be something that I can transfer car to car whatever I happen to get to replace my STi as a daily driver (oh, about 6 years down the road)...

now that's what i call long-term planning. :) it hadn't even entered my mind, until now, that i might someday actually replace the sti. let's see...the first car i purchased new was a '91 se-r with 140hp. the next car i purchase new will hopefully be an sti, which is double that. so my *next* car should have 600hp. ;)

So can anyone tell me the logic behind the WRC car numbers on the front plate? I noticed the one at the show was TM 52 SRT. I also have seen several other designations at different rallys throughout the past year like X 2 SRT. I want to get that type of personal plate.

I guess this thread isn't dead after all... :D

I currently have a personalized plate, but my wife ordered it - the car was hers first way before we got married. Don't want to post it as it will reveal my anonymity.

Be careful guys - others in your state/province may steal your ideas

I've always wanted:

TVC15

because I am a David Bowie fan... and I think it's pretty subtle. A lot of people wouldn't get it.

But 2 problems here in Illinois:

1) Letters and numbers have to have a space between, i.e., TVC 15 (that'd be OK)

2) Somebody already has it :(

Guess I have to move or get one of those ugly Environmental plates :-?

I thought that maybe the first 2 letters are the driver's initials (Tommi Makinen), the 2 numbers is the car number and the SRT is Subaru Rally Team. (Only the last part I'm pretty sure of)

Yeah, I figured that also. I was guessing that X meant the spare car like in some other series.
