someone with a wrx told me there were white plastic things you shoot a screw into.

are they shteel metal screws? wood screws? special screws?

will be using a adapter plate so need to know this in case i need to go shopping...

Use either a #8 or #10 sheet metal or wood screw. I can't remember what # is the larger one and I used the larger of the 2. The plasitc gromments may or may not be in the doors. My STi had the 3 in the drivers door and none in the passenger door. I had to run to Advance and buy the plastic grommets. Here is the part number for the grommets: 45834. Its a common part number, so i'd imagine you can get them at any major parts chain.

screw is a #10x3/8" (1/2" would probably work imho)

if you want to get the grommets from subaru the pn. is:84965AA060

probably better off getting them at an auto parts store. i've been waiting for mine for a week now...
