Re: Foo_Blyat's GDB Track Build

And yes Panjo has been added as a selling tool. Allegedly you don't have to use it to sell. Have not tried it yet though.

Nice bike and appointments.
doesnt let me post anything. everytime i hit new thread in just redirects me to panjo. no biggie theres more traffic on "the other site" anyway

Re: Foo_Blyat's GDB Track Build

Thanks!

As for the car, AMS kit is sold, work rims are sold, most of the body stuff is sold. Majority of suspension mods remain. Still have the Spec c manifold. I dropped the transmission and am pulling the motor tomorrow. Someone is picking up the shell Friday or Saturday ! Can't wait to have all that garage space back lol

As for the bike, I'm getting more and more confident on it everyday. I adjusted the shifter to better accommodate my foot with my new alpine stars boots. Moved the pegs back in the oem location because last owner had moved them down a spot. Replaced the ASV levers with ASV shortys. Next up is ss braided brake lines and an ATE super blue brake fluid flush. I'll also clean and lube the chain. Oh and most likely an oil change and air filter change.

Looking into some detailing products for the bike as well to freshen her up. A lot of riders say "just soap and water" but I want to at least give her some special lovin once or twice a season.

Once I get more riding time under my belt I'll do a full exhaust system to replace the stock header , cat and slip on two brothers followed with a dyno jet power commander and dyno tune.

Hands down getting way more joy out of the bike than the Subaru and it takes so much more skill to ride than to drive. I have to remind myself to counter steer (turn wheel left to lean and go right ) and to watch my exit instead of road directly in front of me. Been reading twist of the wrist to improve my knowledge of riding as well before bed. I honestly haven't felt this good about everything in awhile. Cutting my loses and parting the build is a decision I'll never regret.

If anyone's interested in my parts shoot me a pm

Re: Foo_Blyat's GDB Track Build

Items are FLYING from the part out! Hard to keep up.

Someone just bought the transmission, rear diff, axles, tss fab rear subframe/tbar, front hub assemblies, the brand new rear knuckle/hub/bearings/seals/clips/nut & bolt setup, aluminum control arms, cusco lat links/trailing arms, and front cross member with steering rack to throw into their 07 wrx wagon. i threw in some stock rotors and mounting brackets since it was a such a pleasant deal.

So i removed all that and pulled the motor. (quick cell phone shot right after pulling it)

Heres how the shell sits as of right now. (cell phone pics)

Just need to remove the front crossmember and go find a free pallet from a nearby small business and i can start loading everything up for the buyer.

also have 3 last doors to remove and the shell is being bought and picked up on friday or saturday of this upcoming week.

I didnt think this would happen but im having a slight urge to purchase a second bike thats better for cruising and in a more upright sitting position lol... everyone always says you'll want to buy more than one bike and at first i thought it was nonsense but now im eating my words

All i have left is a few little items here and there like the motor, bride seat, ast coilovers, rocket dancer hood and small odds and ends and the part out will be 100% complete. Made a nice chunk of my money back and VERY happy about my decision.

Re: Foo_Blyat's GDB Part Out - Selling The Track Build

The part out is almost complete. My only two big ticket items left include the rocket dancer hood and the bride seat. Other than some small odds and ends, plus the long block, everything has been sold. So if anyone wants a spare long block, amazing bride seat that doesn't expire until 2020, or a bad ass jdm light weight hand made hood, Pm me ;]

The frame should be getting picked up either Monday by one buyer or if he flakes I have a second buyer that'll be here on the 1st.

I forgot to unmarry the access port so I emailed Cobb and they said they would help me out free of charge, I just have to cover shipping. So i got an rma and will be shipping them my access port and ecu today.

all in all I've Made 40k back :D couldn't be happier as opposed to spending tens of thousands to get the car finished. Once I ship/sell the last of my items I plan on taking a well deserved vacation \o/

Holy shit Foo, nice chunk of change back in your hands! I love that hood and would've loved to buy it and some of the other parts you had but just was bad timing for me and not in the budget right now.

Considering all the stuff you had, it would've been a helluva track car. I'm glad you got all of it sold so fast though. Go somewhere nice then report back here! Also, don't forget to stop by our journals sometime!

Re: Foo_Blyat's GDB Part Out - Selling The Track Build

Sorry to hear the change of heart. This is one of the reasons I do just about everything myself.
Yea, but honestly ive never been happier. It was a huge weight lifted off my shoulders and now i dont have to worry about finishing a project that had no end in sight. Plus i did do most work myself but im not a fabricator and thats where huge speed bumps come into play. When you need to make your own intercooler or bend your own roll cage. Stuff like that was what halted the project. Not to mention body work and paint. The things out of my control were what "killed" the project.

I knew i was going to get a good amount of money back but would have never guessed it was that much and that fast. I was selling about 3 items on average per day and a lot were in the thousands. the two big ones were the entire drivetrain and the ams kit. that was a 1/4 of the entire money made back in just two sales. Even all the little things i still have listed add up to a couple thousand. not to mention the seat, hood, and longblock alone are close to another 5k.

TBag and a few others have already put it perfectly, with the money we spend in these little subarus we could have purchased porsches or other super cars with a lot less headache and a lot more "wow" factor. and have gotten to enjoy them more often instead of always chasing problems or waiting on shops to start/finish the work. Its just so not worth it in the end. Im just grateful i got out when i did (wish i had smartened up even a bit earlier ) and that ive been able to sell everything so quickly. I have taken some big loses across the board on all the sales but it doesnt even bother me because in the bigger picture i would have lost a lot more had i continued down the same path i was going.

Yea I sold it to some moron from New York around Xmas time. Post office was backed up and his tracking said delayed because of the holidays so the impatient jerk opens a dispute against me saying the post office lost his package. It arrived the next day :smh:

Oh my  I wasn't even familiar with it, so I used teh googler machine and found your thread on the other site. That looks sick, and it would look even better with a KS Tech scoop delete.

Unfortunately it's not in the cards for me :crying: My wife has been very patient with the car, I'm not sure how far I want to test my luck though...

New with a warranty =/= project car :D

With that said, GD's are the greatest.

And I have the kstech hood scoop delete but just haven't listed it yet lol!

Extactlt, id just buy the car and keep it in warranty and not spend any money on mods. Prob trade it in after a year or so. I get bored with cars too fast. I'm already thinking of selling/trading in the brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee I just bought 8 months ago.

I should start looking into leases
