this is from the sti specs. what does *fixed* mean, other than the obvious? are their *variable* position calipers? like maybe ones that spin with the rotor? :D thanks.

I believe that Fixed means that the caliper is one solid piece that is bolted to the spindle. In a non fixed or floating, the back half of the caliper is bolted to the spindle but the front half slides along pins when the piston applies braking force.

By the way - the big Brembos are sweet!

ah! i get it. so i image most are the unfixed or floating kind. at least they're that way on my se-r and nx2000. thanks for the explanation.
