Bump... I'm looking for a catback 3" exhaust that is lighter than the COBB but the same or quieter than the COBB, which is what I had before.

I installed a Bushur Racing Quiet exhaust and although light, it's too loud.

Where would the Apex'i N1 fit into this list?
Ive heard a lot of good things about the maddad whisper if you are looking for super quiet exhaust and in person it seems quieter than stock to me. Apex'i N1 is going to be pretty loud all the N1 style exhausts are not in the quiet category.

My question is where does Invidia's Resonated N1 fall into this thread I know its between the g200 and the N1 race but does anyone else have a more exact pinpoint or a link to a video? Thanks guys.

personal experience: I have literally put my car w. 3" hks carbon ti side to side with my friend who had identical upgrades (invidia downpipe, intake.. nothing else to effect sound) and he had a 3.5" APS . . . . . APS was VERY noticeably louder. veeeery much louder. just gonna toss that in there! and for the record, blizt nur spec is much louder than carbon ti also. perrin is much quieter than carbon ti. (all comparisons done in person)

That's why there is a list on the opening page. Fujitsubo has a canister style exhaust like the N1 that is pretty damn quiet, but is a bit more expensive. It would be worth looking at though if you're serious about quiet. Another is the maddad and also the borla hush. The hush is a bit more noticable than the maddad, but isn't over the top.
As far as weight, if you're really looking to cut the wait, obviously titanium is something to consider. Again, this will be quite a bit more expensive than ss catbacks. You can find used systems in pretty good condition for a pretty big discount over what they sell for new. You could also go stainless to a titanium muffler. JIC has a system like that along with a few other companies. I believe Fujitsubo has something like this as well. Just depends on what you're willing to pay.
Good luck

I had the Maddad CBE with a catted DP. It was very quiet at idle but it got angry at wot. It's def quieter than any other aftermarket setup I've heard, but it was still a little too loud for me. I went stealth w/ stock sti ab. And yes I do miss it, especially the sound when downshifting. I would def recommend the maddad, it's a quality product.

this is with out the silencer, but taken with a digital camera so its not the best quality..
and i do not have accurate specs on weight, but many vendors and buddy club told me its the lightest ss exhuast, and it really is wen i picked it up. it weighs less than any other ss or sus Ti. the only lighter u can get is with full Ti, but will be louder.

What is Sus Ti? I think instead of compromising, I might have to get the Buddy Club for track and the Maddad (heavy!) for street... or maybe the 3" Stromung for street.

I just need to get a weight for the Buddy Club and Stromung and then I can make a decision. Thanks guys.

sus ti is ss with ti tip...like agency power or some of JIC's exhuast. buddy club is way lighter than maddad, but both are very great products:tup:

I like how you describe ti as ti! For people who don't know, that doesn't help!
For clarification, sus is stainless steal and ti = titanium.
