Depends on what you want to do. The PDA/NASA/FATT/BMWCCA events are similar and held at road-courses. The Evolution schools are auto-x schools held in parking lots like auto-x. Very different things are taught at road-cours v. auto-x school. I been auto-xing for 3 years and last year started road course HPDEs with NASA/PDA/BMWCCA. I enjoy both, but love road racing best so far.

Paisan is accurate.

My personal preference is to become members of various car clubs in our area and attend their HPDEs. I am not a fan of FATT, and I have not tried NASA yet.

If I were to list the best HPDEs I attended per club, here would be my order:

1-BMWCCA
2-Audi
3-PCA

Evolution schools, for autocross, are truly awesome. However, you get most the benefits of the school - phase 1 and 2 specifically, after doing about 6-8 autocrosses. If you start off with the school, I think the value you get is less. But that is just my personal opinion and things work differently for others :)
