I sure hope you're right. If SOA prices it at $30K even..I'm a happy customer..and they still are in the same ballpark as the Evo.

I already know so many people thinking the Evo is the cats meow compared to the STi..I sure hope SOA doesn't shoot themselves in the foot with gouging the price much higher than the Evo..especially with the Xenon lights standard on the Evo!!

PS..I saw my first up-close G35 coupe yesterday...SUHWEET!!!! Heck, if SOA stiffs us...that is looking like a nice replacement! j/k.

but I have been tracking the progression of the STI for some time.

really looking forward to hearing the concrete info, if the price is in fact adjusted in light of the EVO VIII news, to somewhere in the 30 - 32K ballpark ($US) I will be marching my ass down to the subaru dealer to put down my deposit



i can tell you this tho, Im getting very excited at the prospect of getting my little hands on one of these bad boys. Been wanting a WRX for some time now but decided to wait after hearing rumors quite some time back that we were getting the STI.

Somewhere on their website there is a 360* view of the interior and I saw a radio there. Didn't look very special.

WTF??? How can the EVO have 17" disc on 17" rims?

my guess, since the Evo will come with the twin scroll turbo we are indeed gonna get the rumored 2.5L or we are gonna also get the twin-scroll turbo. My bet is on the later. yippee!!

If the EVO 8 has a radio like every other car on the road, wouldn't you think that the STi would have one too? Well ok we still don't know if the show car or the 360 views are std equipment or it has optional equipment installed just like you see in ads these days, "starting at $29,000, as shown $33,000..."

Don't forget about dealer markups. I remember stopping by a Mitsubishi dealership nearby Irvine, and the salesman said they would more than likely tack on an additional $5k, but he said he'd "work with me" if I wanted it. The Evo VIII seems like one hell of a car, but screw that.

I wont pay over MSRP on any car...period!

If I have to pay $5K over..I'll wait until the next year...that's ridiculous. The dealer I am working with the STi said MSRP only..no more..maybe less. I think the STi is a better car anyhow..maybe a little less cult status than the Evo (especially with the younger generations in Cali).

I dont think i would pay over the MSRP, thats just sick!!! But then again theres a dealership out here in miwlaukee that say he'll add 5-10k depending on the demand. I was like hahahah NO WAY i would buy shiet he was given me a 40k price i was like ciao you lost some sales!!! But then again im sure the MSZRP on the STI will be like 28K starting and of course when you add a few goodies it will be in the 31-32K after all that bullshit destination charges and blah blah!!!!

But im not gonna downgrade the EVO that car looks nice...but then again the STI looks sweet!! so we'll see hold hands until monday!!! i swear ill be outta work and on the net to hear what happens!!
