The Subaru rep at the Portland auto show said the WRX barely passed the emissions. Does anybody know how close it came? Do you think the WRX will have trouble passing emissions as it gets older? One more thing...everyone mentions how they detune the STi from Japanese specs...is there a way to retune it? Just some ideas to think about...

I thought that the WRX qualified as an LEV - at least that's what the press said when the WRX was first announced.

Thats what I thought too, and what auto manufacturer would tell you their vehicle barely passed? That could produce some bad publicity if they told the wrong person.

Cali want near 0's on all emmissions.. NOx and Carbon Monoxide/dioxide and unburned hydrocarbons are the big ones, but in recent years the EPA has been getting trippy about too much O2 coming out of the pipes.. In the end, blame California.
