Just read somewhere (my apologies but can't find the article now) that if Subaru uses the EJ for the upcoming Isle of Man Time Attack we are likely to see it or a revised version of it for a while in upcoming U.S. WRX STI's.

Appears my information was incorrect as now confirmed by Road and Track.
Your thread title isn't wrong, it is still an EJ if that R&T article is to believed, considering the EJ207 was the basis for the WRC cars.

That being said, it is not the 2.5L EJ we see here in the USA. This is the JDM EJ that most people consider to be the holy grail of EJs.

Subaru didn't use the FA motor in the 24-Hours Ring run either.
