If this is the wrong place to post this question I apologize in advance, but: has anyone raced an m3 yet? The 0-60 times in the magazines are close so it will probably come down to the drivers, and that is why I am asking you guys...
I would make sure he wasn't still breaking his engine in before bragging too much. I was able to beat many cars stoplight to stoplight without breaking 4000 rpm.
I don't think that there are engines that perform better on lower octane, but there are engines that do not get better with higher octane. The higher octane helps reduce detonation. If you are not getting any detonation, then you cannot receive any bennefit by going higher.
