DP Catted I need Stage 2?

Hello,

I'm interested to change my stock DP, to Invidia DP Catted.

But I have a problem, I'm from Spain and here we can't use the AccessPort from Cobb.

Some friends tell me, "You can change the DP and it's not necesary to update your ECU to Stage 2, the car if detects some problem, goes to "Limp mode".

Here in Spain we use gasoline 98oct (in USA it's the same 93oct, measuring different measurement)

And now I'm made a mess.

I hope some guy can help me, thanks !

Can you get an open-source tune? You definitely need a tune for a downpipe.

what you mean with open-source?

I'm not expert with mechanical cars.

from where I can get an open source? And the software for download the maps to the car?
You can try open source tuning it yourself - Tactrix cable and RomRaider/ECUFlash.

But if you are not savvy I just wouldn't try it - you just dont grab a random map from the web and hope it works for your car.

Maybe join here - Club Subaru España and see if they can point you in the right direction.

I know Club Subaru España, I'm member here.

Anyone know if I need a stage 2 or not, that is the reason why I ask here.

I read now tactric cable and romraider, but maybe it's too much complicated for me, and I need read to much hours.

In my work i'm a programer but it's the Programer Logic Control (Siemens Simatic S7, and robots KUKA) but it's totally diferent to change the ECU.

I think if I change the DP, maybe I need change some signal in the ECU and finish, but I think this is to much easy.
YES YOU DO NEED TO UPDATE TO STAGE 2 OR TELL YOUR MOTOR BYE

Yea PLC programming is different from ECU tuning.

Yes, you need a "Stage 2" tune for a downpipe.

I am also a PLC programmer\automation engineer. Think of it this way, you have a PID loop optimized to work with a certain tank and pump and drive, then you change the pump for a bigger one with different physical characteristics and parameters. Will you need to update the programming and re-tune the PID loop with this new equipment? ABSOLUTELY.

Why can't you use Cobb Accessport in Spain? you need a stage 2 tune or protune with an aftermarket (non-OEM or non-original) downpipe or you will cause damage to your engine quickly. Find a good local tuner if you cannot use accessport.

I understand you with the PID.

I can't use Cobb AccessPort because "Accessport is only compatible with USDM Subarus. It will not be able to recognize the ECU in your European model STI therefor you will not be able to use it to tune your car. I apologize for any inconvenience!"

I have a problem

damn yeah. Definitely find a local tuner to tune you.
Sax imports. En Madrid Hablales.
In Madrid call them
I think the local tuner are not very good.

so complicated is to change the map of emission of gases? Just so the turbo does not have a overflood
Anyone else read this with the scotty voice from the newer star trek movies?

“Some say that he can’t eat mashed potato for religious reasons, and that he recently received 47,000 tickets, Olympic tickets, all of them for the final of the Women’s Wrestling. All we know is he’s called the Stig.”
lol give the guy credit, at least he's trying. haha still funny to try and decypher it though.
