Is it safe to say that any lug that uses the stock size M12 x 1.25 and 60 degree matching system can be used with the factory bbs wheels?

 

I just order the Rays anodize red lugs yesterday.. Should get here next week. I will let you know how they holding up on my BBS..

I have the Gorrila's and I HATE to sound like a cliche but you really get what you pay for with these lugs. I know they're just lugs but the paint starting to chip as I was tightening with their own suplied tool.

I should add that the mcgard spline drive have a very nice build quality - the base is able to rotate separately from the nut so there is no binding at the interface of lug to wheel

 

I hope a set of Rays that cost me $120 will justify the chipping problem that other lugs have.

 

Appreciate the replies. FWIW, Garage Spec told me those Work & Ray lugs, and all lugs on their site that use the above spec will work with all oem Subaru wheels as well as the 08 stock BBS.

 

FWIW, I just ordered a set of McGard's in chrome from the Lug Shack. Only down-side is the website says they are closed from 11/20 through the end of the month & won't start processing orders until 12/1.

 

ok guys. I received my Rays lugs last night. I haven't had time to put it on due to school midterm. Here are 2 pics of the lugs and I will take more once I put it on.



Notice the wheel lock is 7 sided. I will try to test it with a 12 point socket to see if it can be jam in there like other lock lugs could.

 

Excellent! How red do they look in person? Some of the pics I have seen kinda looked as though they were reddish orange color

I had rays lugs on my 06 wrx wagon. Loved them. Extremely light and they stayed in place. Hold up very well. Just make sure you re-torque them after like 300 miles to make sure they are seated right.

 

ok. These are not as red than I thought they would be. I forgot to take a final pic with the lugs on due to spending 8 hours on detailing the car. I will take it possibly this weekend or so.

Sorry guys, the pics I took last night withe my cousin's camera didn't turn out so great. I will take some this weekend when there is Sunlight.

As for the lock, is a 7 sided lug with that slot to fit the lock socket on there. "Supposely" this will prevent theft, but I doubt it. I can jam a 12 point socket in there and break it loose with my 1/2" drive rachet. So far, I show no sign of lugs coming loose on its own.

Conclusion: Looks rather than protect if you choose to go this route.

 

I've been looking for something to swap the acorns out with on my bbs and have found a few. But it keeps falling back on if they will eventually back out. I want to get some higher end ones that are locking type of some sort. I know the gorillas work great b/c they are keyed and have kept another set of rims on a previous car from being stolen.

They are the regular. I think the extended would look alittle better, but not sure how much they stick out.

 

If you look around, you'll see that the Ray's lugnuts are known to fade in sun/heat. Most people report the red ones turning very pink.
