anyone driven the Saab 9-3 (03/04 model)

It may take a while, but it's not like they are only bringing 04s. Worst case scenario, you have to wait for an 05.

I'd bet you're fine and have one my Xmas though.

I don't think that it won't be limited to begin with, but a few things make me believe any one who wants one will get one.

1 - production will be constant and at this point, only people who have their eyes on something like the EVO or STi are ordering them. Once the car shows up on magazines and is shown blowing some big cars away, the general public might catch on. You have to remember what the general public's view of Subaru is, WRX or not.

2 - The rest of the world is not so much 'limited production'. As someone from elsewhere in the world said, the STi is just like a Camaro Z28 or SS over there....yes, not as many as the base model, but if you want one, you'll get one. I think production will increase.....but not to WRX levels.
