OK, I picked up my STI yesterday. I went on a nice trip to LOEWS and parked at the far end of the parking lot. 20 minutes later when I came out. My STI was being kissed by a shopping cart. Picture that! A lone STI in a parking lot. Brand new 70 miles on it! And a red plastic LOEWS shopping cart smack right into the front passenger door!. I now have two little dings on the door.
I was wondering if anyone has tried The Ding King as seen on TV. Any info would be great. I know they have professional ding guys but they charge about $150 a panel.
Thanx

If the "Ding King" is that thing I see advertised on late night TV (where you "plunger" either end and then "screw" the dent out) I'd be very wary. That thing just can't work IMO.

one of the adds i saw for one of these systems did pull the dent out, but u could still see little ripples in the bodywork where the dent used to be. so there add even shows how good it is.

Ding King would probably only work for big dents that were fairly round, like something created by a baseball. But if the dent has creased the metal, it's not gonna work. You need a full dent kit with all the tools and the skills to do it. There was a school that I saw when I got a dent in my WRX and I was thinking of learning it myself. You could then start up your own business fixing ppl's dents, but you'd be a door-to-door dent repair guy. So you wouldn't have to buy a garage. Anyway, I decided to go with a professional lol. DON'T use Earl Scheib for sure. Saw the shoddy job they did on my Mom's old accord.

I'm sure that there are plenty of paintless dent guys where you live. I've got a guy localy here that is AWESOME! I've watched him take creases like folded paper out of cars! And he's pretty reasonable too. About $75 per dent.

Ok, i know nothing about DING KING, but i'd like to know who would be that evil to dent your STi with a shopping cart while your car was parked far away! The person must be jealous! He should be sent to hell and be burned by hellfire endlessly!!!

Here here!! Thats exactly what i was thinking. If your car is out in the far end of a carpark alone with a shopping cart T-Boned to it....hmmmm....something ain't right. The red shopping cart didn't think to itself
"what, this guy couldn't afford to import a RED STI from Japan? Well that steams me. Time to die!!" did it? I don't think so. Some piece of human waste decided to have some fun. And your car paid the price. If i was you i woulda stopped the minute i saw that. You should've looked around cause i guarantee you somewhere in that carpark was the person who did it. He/they were probably sitting in a car watching you and laughing. Argghhhh makes me mad....and it isn't even my car.

I still don't belive someone did that. The lot was at a very slight incline. I mean VERY FAINT. It was also a windy day. I want to belive the shopping cart happened to roll it's way to the car. HAPPY THOUGHTS!
